Whether we believe it or not, 2017 is behind us and the potential and opportunity of 2018 lies ahead.

As you embark on this new year, remember that whatever your goals may be, you are gearing up to run a marathon and not a sprint.

Don’t expect to cross off all your goals by tomorrow. Building a better version of you takes time and significant effort. Be prepared to invest the blood, sweat and tears required to make a significant impact in your life and future.

Today you start taking small and intentional steps that will light your internal fire and keep it burning for today and the next 364 days.

A new journey is beginning.

A new story is being written. More specifically, your story.

You are starting down your path to becoming a new and better version of yourself – creating a new definition of your championship caliber life.

No matter what you are setting out to accomplish this year, give it your absolute all.  And no matter what challenges or adversity come your way:

  • Do not give up.
  • Do not give into the negative voices around you or in your own head.
  • Do not settle.

You are the boss of your life and whether or not your reach your destination is now 100% up to you.

And I believe in you. I believe in your heart, determination, and desire to be your best.

But what I believe pales in comparison to the importance of you believing in yourself. Never doubt what you are capable of achieving.

The actions you take today and every day after today must build upon each other.

Create the incremental progress and momentum to stay motivated throughout the year and keep battling until you reach and exceed every one of your goals.

Erase all doubt around what you can achieve and accomplish.

  • Lose the weight.
  • Finish the marathon.
  • Earn the promotion.
  • Start that business.
  • Control your finances.
  • Get out of debt.
  • Get the new job.

Today as you begin your new journey for 2018, I want you to invest 5 minutes. Just 5 minutes to close your eyes and envision yourself reaching your goals and your 2018 vision for yourself.

How does it feel?

  • How does it feel to prove to yourself that you were able to rise to the challenge and level up your life?
  • How does it feel to have the support, congratulations and admiration from your family, friends and peers because you crushed every one of your goals?
  • How does it feel to create a whole new universe of what is possible for you in the future?

Whatever success feels like to you based on your goals, take the time to soak it in. Be in that vision.

Be that version of yourself that you desire to be. Embrace these feeling and these emotions as they will drive you this year.

When you don’t feel like putting in the work or making the sacrifices, close your eyes and let yourself see and feel your success. Let it push you through the difficult times.

Now is your time. Today begins your journey towards the version of you that you’ve dreamed about. Today you begin the journey to make it a reality.

As you embark on 2018 and begin working toward everything you want for yourself, never lose site of your vision.

Never lose the hunger and drive.

Never settle and become complacent.

Embrace discomfort.

This year is your year. Make it the best yet.
