No matter what you do, where you are, or what your profession may be, are you taking the time to put your armor on?
Sometimes we need to break away from the routines and our 'normal' processes. Sometimes we need to escape to new places and locations to find inspiration and rev up our mind to new perspectives, insights and opportunities for massive growth. Sometimes we need to get away and think bigger.
Throughout our lives we are all going to be knocked down. It will always be easier to stay on the sideline. It takes courage, resilience, strong desire and an internal fire to step over that line and return to the field. Getting knocked down is part of life - it's part of the game - and when we get knocked down there is only one voice in our head that we should listen to. It's the one that's telling us to "Get Back in the Game!"
We all have big dreams and aspirations to do great things. And yet, how often do we convince ourselves that "today" is just not the right day to take action? Someday, but not today. How does putting these things off serve us? And what if someday never comes?
How many of us have risen out of someone's shadow in our lives or careers? A parent, boss, mentor, teacher, or coach... They prepared us to step out of their shadow and take the lead in our own life. Take a moment a think of who those people are in your life... Now, ask yourself "who is standing in MY shadow right now?"
How often do we sacrifice being fully in the present moment because we are held back by some memory, regret or failure from the past? Or how often do our present circumstances affect our ability to think about a bigger and brighter future? These are questions and challenges that most of us face on a regular basis, and they can hold us back from furthering our personal growth and development. So how can we think about these things differently?
The truth is, these overnight success stories are years in the making and are full of early mornings, late nights, grueling training, and meticulous preparation - all waiting for the potential for one opportunity to break in and make a massive impact! Do you have what it takes to become an overnight success?
In a world so focused on what other people have, or on what other people expect us to do, what if we instead focus on who we are while making sure the person we see in the mirror is someone we are proud to be?
How often do we experience an inner turmoil about how to be and react in certain situations, conversations or in life? Why is it that we let the negativity, anger, frustration and ego take over and, at times, define who we are in the moment... I would guess that results in us showing up as a person we really don't want to be. Yet we continue to fuel that anger, negativity and fear... we continue to feed it. But to what end? It is my wish that today's post helps us to all stop and think about the choices we have, the decisions we make, and who we truly want to be.
